Canadian-made Mondor Rocks Toronto Fashion Week

Walking into Toronto Fashion Week for the Mondor fashion show, I was met with the sleek darkness inside of the black tent. Chandeliers and shiny silver accents created a wonderful ambient vibe. The music was minimal with an uplifting beat, exactly what you would expect from a fashion event - which was the perfect touch to tie everything together.

A few beauty and lifestyle companies had booths set up with some very fun concepts. The room was full of them, but the two that stood out the most were Maybelline and Microsoft, oddly enough.

The Maybelline booth had a selfie-couch, where you take your picture, post it on Instagram, and recieve a free lipstick!

Microsoft offered a futuristic cosmetic computer-bar, equipped with special software that allows you to design your own nail art. To top it off, they had nail stations with artists who could install your nail art right then and there!

Free matte liquid lipstick AND personalized nails? Yes please! All of this, with a glass of prosecco from the bar, made the Mondor pre-show quite a cool affair.

As for the show itself... Mondor's 2016 line was stunning

The focal points of the outfits were the Mondor tights paired with street or athletic wear. I loved how current trends in fashion were incorporated into the dancewear line.

Where did the “dancewear" end and "fashionwear" begin?

It was one and the same! The Mondor leggings built upon the 2015 'sleek meets athletic' style we saw on the runways last year.

A big thanks to Stacey Kaniuk for the use of her song in the video. To purchase "Love Me or Leave Me", visit Stacey's page on iTunes.

Mondor blends dance styles with the latest fashion trends

Canadian-Made Mondor Tights at Toronro Fashion WeekThe line played with texture, shape, and occasionally colour, though a majority of the pieces were either solid or sheer black, white or grey.

My personal favourite were the black tights which were heavier knit up to the mid-thigh, giving the appearance of high socks.

Another beautiful look were the tough but feminine supplex and faux leather leggings.

Faux leather that stretches and has a quilted looking print? To die for!

Perfect for the dance studio, killer for any audition, and can be worn out to meet friends afterwards.

Overall, the show was outstanding, and generated a great deal of excitement about Mondor's fall 2016 line, most of which will start to arrive at Inspirations in June.

Some items may arrive sooner, like the Mondor Ruched Mesh Detail Leggings which we expect later this month. The prices for Mondor's new leggings range between $18 and $60 Canadian, and I have already put my name in for a bunch of the pieces. I can’t wait to rock them like they did on the runway.
