You'll sometimes see a letter next to a shoe size. The letter represents width. Many dance shoes come in multiple widths because not all feet are the same.

 

Standard Dance Shoe Widths

Generally, these letters indicate the width:

• N means narrow
• M means medium
• W means wide

For most feet, a medium width is what fits best. If you prefer a narrow or wide fit, then choose that option if it is available in the shoe you want.
